Frequently Asked Questions

Is the road being moved?

No, the road is being expanded to provide space for cars, taxis, and buses to pull over and allow visitors to disembark safely. The road expansion will occur in coordination with the current Eleuthera road improvement project. Click here for a visual representation of the road’s expansion.

Will there be dredging?

No, there will be no dredging.

How will Westreach address concerns about strong winds and hurricanes in Governor's Harbour, ensuring boats are protected and do not pose a risk to nearby properties?

Westreach has been designed with safety as a top priority. To address concerns about strong winds and hurricanes, the marina features elevated decks and requires all long-term boats to be on lifts out of the water, minimizing the risk of damage during bad weather. Additionally, in the event of a hurricane, vessels will be moved from the marina to further ensure the safety of both the boats and surrounding properties.

How do will water resources be managed?

Water resources sourced from Kings Highway main service line.

What about parking?

The road expansion will alleviate traffic congestion, and ample parking will be available across the street in the Marina Village.

Will you be taking over the clinic?

No, Sunset Marina boundaries do not encompass the clinic. The government retains responsibility for its management.

How will waste be managed?

We are seeking a local company to handle waste disposal services. Interested parties can contact us here.

How does this benefit Governor's Harbour?

The project allows boats to dock and refuel directly in Governor’s Harbour, stimulating economic growth.
The Marina Village will provide rental and ownership opportunities for locals to establish shops and services.
Housing options will expand, with opportunities for Bahamians to purchase property and units. Residents of Eleuthera can participate in our referral program and benefit from incentives and discounts.
